The Sculpture of Lloyd Schermer
Type sculpture is the heart of Lloyd Schermer’s work. Each piece is made of hundreds, sometimes thousands of antique wood and metal type. Most also have print plates that were used as advertisements, headings, logos, or other image ornamentation. The result is the inspired and timeless art that you see here.
Please note: each sculpture is several layers deep and the photographs tend to visually flatten this effect. The third dimension listed is the depth of the sculpture.
